Been developing for a few days but the bigger papers have now done stories.

TL;DR - They came to meet with Tommy Robinson
I specifically have known of Southern's work via some other people for while and I strongly agree with a lot of her rhetoric and stunts but being "refused on policy grounds that their presence in the UK was not conducive to the public good" is a different thing.
For me that is a pretty scary (not to mention inconsistent) stance from an open government.

I also had never heard of any of them before the last few days. But myself and millions of others do now.
She had a joke "pretend" left wing kiosk handing out leaflets promoting the LGBT intersection with Islam and claiming Allah was also a gay god.
She did this apparently as an exercise/experiment to assimilate a recent similar episode where it was claimed that Jesus was gay.
There can be no good ending to this. It effectively means that UKBA is enforcing medieval blasphemy laws in our country.

I don't think anyone should be allowed in who incites violence or endorses violence. I was using a generic descriptive term, not a legal term.
And I have no idea what these particular people say/do, I've never heard of them. I was commenting generally on the illiberal actions of the state.

I believe that only people who endorse violence etc should be banned. Whether they're Muslim or white supremacists or whatever. There are too many people banned of different persuasions.

The law is not the problem. I posted up a very brief police guidance form their college library.
The law is not being applied correctly and there is a clear abuse of power.
This should concern all of us.

Lauren Southen (I am not a fan of hers in the slightest) is not a threat to our country.
Her "offence" was apparently "distribution of racist material in Luton on Feb 24th" (sic).

Interesting that they've been stopped under the terrorism act, for precisely what? They were apparently questioned on their religious views and whether they intend to drive on pavements!
The government holding them is only going giving them more attention. As a regular reader and viewer of theirs, none content could be considered extremist in the slightest.
This also ties in with Amber Rudd wanting to make it illegal to read certain content online e.g. Far right or places that push an extreme religious narrative, which would come with a maximum if a 15 year sentence.
I'd like to see how they define what's considered far right, and why they think they are able to interfere with what political content people view.
How long before a point of view is illegal? How long before people like Nick Griffin are locked up? I vehemently disagree with his world view for example, but he should be able to believe what he wants and have a platform to share it.
